Pushnin Alexander Tikhonovich
(1921-1991)




Was born 28 March 1921 in Morshansk, Tambov Province.
In 1950 Alexander Pushnin graduated from Ilya Repin Institute in Rudolf Frentz workshop.
Pupil of Ivan Stepashkin, Mikhail Avilov, Yuri Neprintsev, Alexander Gerasimov.
Since 1948 he has participated in Art Exhibitions.
A Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1950.
Master of Art-criticism (1952). Professor of Ilya Repin Institute (1986).
Painted a portraits, genre and historical pictures, landscapes.
Personal Art Exhibition in Leningrad (1982).
Pushnin Alexander Tikhonovich died in Leningrad in 1991.
Paintings by Alexander Pushnin are in State Russian Museum, in the Art museums and private collections in Russia, Japan, France, and throughout the world.
