Elena Mikhailovna Kostenko was born August 9, 1926 in Leningrad.
In 1952 Elena Kostenko graduated from the Repin Institute of Arts in Viktor Oreshnikov workshop.
She studied of Semion Abugov, Yuri Neprintsev, Mikhail Platunov, Andrey Mylnikov.
Since 1952 Elena Kostenko has participated in Art Exhibitions.
She painted portraits, still life, genre scenes, etudes done from nature.
She most famous for her paintings of children and portraits of workers of science and culture.
Her personal exhibitions were in Belgorod in 1981 and in Leningrad in 1986.
Elena Kostenko is a member of the Saint Petersburg Union of Artists since 1953.
Paintings by Elena Kostenko reside in Art museums and private collections in the Russia, Japan, France, in the U.S., England, and throughout the world.
