Zagonek Vecheslav Frantsevich (1919- 1994)
Vecheslav Frantsevich Zagonek was born December 19, 1919 in Irkutsk, East Siberia.
In 1950 Vecheslav Zagonek graduated from the Repin Institute of Arts in Boris Ioganson workshop.
He studied of Mikhail Bernshtein, Alexander Zaytsev, Genrikh Pavlovsky, Semion Abugov, Gleb Savinov.
Since 1939 Vecheslav Zagonek has participated in Art Exhibitions.
He painted genre scenes, historical paintings, landscapes.
His personal exhibitions were in Leningrad in 1966 and 1990, and in Moscow in 1966.
Since 1950, Vecheslav Zagonek was a member of Leningrad Union of Artists.
Vecheslav Zagonek was awarded the honorary titles of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1963), the Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation (1968), the People\'s Artist of the Russian Federation (1979), and the People\'s Artist of the Soviet Union (1985).
In 1965, he was awarded a silver medal of the Academy of Arts of the USSR.
In 1977 Vecheslav Zagonek has become a prize-winner of the Repin Prize of the Russian Federation.
In 1988 Vecheslav Zagonek was elected a member of the Academy of Arts of the Soviet Union.
Vecheslav Frantsevich Zagonek died in Saint Petersburg in 1994.
