Timkov Nikolai Efimovich
(1912-1995)

Nikolai Efimovich Timkov was born August 12, 1912 at a settlement of Nakhichevanskaya Dacha close to Rostov-on-Don, Russian Empire.
In 1939 Nikolai Timkov graduated from the Repin Institute of Arts in Isaak Brodsky workshop.
He studied of Mikhail Bernshtein, Arcady Rilov, Alexander Lubimov, Vladimir Serov.
Since 1929 Nikolai Timkov has participated in Art exhibitions.
He painted landscapes, genre scenes, cityscapes, still lifes, worked as easel painter and graphic artist.
Nikolai Timkov was the most known for his lyrical landscapes painted in impressionist and decorative style.
His personal exhibitions were in Leningrad (1947, 1976), Moscow (1982), Rostov-on-Don (1957), Saint-Petersburg (1993), San Francisco (1998, 2000, 2001), Aspen (1999), New York (1999, 2001), Scottsdale (2000), Palm Beach (2000), Vail (2001), and Washington (2001).
Nikolai Timkov was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1943.
In 1987 Nikolai Timkov was awarded the honorary title of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
Nikolai Efimovich Timkov died in Saint Petersburg in 1993.
Paintings by Nikolai Timkov reside in State Russian Museum, State Tretyakov Gallery, in Art museums and private collections in the Russia, Japan, England, France, in the U.S., and throughout the world.
