Nevelshtein Samuil Grigorievich

Samuil Grigorievich Nevelshtein was born March 22, 1903 in the city Kherson, Ukraine.
In 1931 Samuil Nevelshtein graduated from the Institute of Proletarian Fine Arts (since 1944 known as the Repin Institute of Arts).
Since 1928 Samuil Nevelshtein has participated in Art Exhibitions.
He painted portraits, genre paintings, landscapes, still lifes, worked as painter and graphic artists.
Most famous for his portraits of children and youth.
His personal exhibitions were in Leningrad in 1944, 1956, 1964, 1968, and in 1985.
Samuil Nevelshtein was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1935.
In 1936-1940 years Samuil Nevelshtein was a head of the Leningrad Secondary Art School.
Samuil Grigorievich Nevelshtein died in Leningrad in 1983.
Paintings by Samuil Nevelshtein reside in State Russian Museum, in Art museums and private collections in the Russia, France, Germane, in the U.S., Israel, England, Japan, and throughout the world.
