Gleb Alexandrovich Savinov was born September 27, 1915 in the village of Natalievka, Kharkov Province, Ukraine, Russian Empire.
In 1940 Gleb Savinov graduated from Ilya Repin Institute in Alexander Osmerkin workshop.
He studied of Pavel Naumov, Mikhail Bernshtein, Nikolai Radlov, Genrikh Pavlovsky.
Since 1940 Gleb Savinov has participated in Art Exhibitions.
He painted portraits, historical and genre pictures, landscapes, genre scenes, still-lifes, interiors.
Personal exhibitions of Gleb Savinov were in Leningrad (1991) and Saint Petersburg (2005).
Gleb Savinov was a member of the Saint Petersburg Union of Artists since 1944.
A Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1973).
Gleb Savinov taught in the Repin Institute of Art (1945-1947), and in the Higher School of Art and Industry named after Vera Mukhina (1949-1979).

Gleb Alexandrovich Savinov died in Saint Petersburg in 2000.
